Tuckerton Creek is located on the mainland across the bay from Holgate. It is approximately 2 miles from the mouth of the creek to it’s end at Route 9.
The entire creek is a strictly enforced slow speed zone. The scenery is worth the trip. There are a few restaurants with docks including Stewart’s Root Beer at the very end of the creek. The Tuckerton musuem is also at the end.
If you go, be sure to take plenty of bug repellant and perhaps long pants and a long sleeved shirt as the greenheads and mosquitos can be vicious. The entrance to the creek is marked on the charts and by channel markers.
Tuckerton Creek Entrance
The creek is fairly wide near the bay. Once you enter the creek, the channel is mostly unmarked.

Public Docks in Tuckerton
The public docks are mainly for residents. The might be transient slips available at some of the marinas. Your best bet is to plan on lunch at Stewarts or dock at the seaport. Docking is first come, first served at the Seaport. However, all persons on board need to purchase an entry ticket.

Stewarts Root Beer Docks
One of our favorite lunch spots on Tuckerton Creek is Stewart’s Root Beer. There was no fee for docking in the area pictured above, however, it is for customers only. Stewarts is on Route 9. Behind Stewarts is a lake where an annual decoy and gunning show is held. If you want to explore Tuckerton, your docking options are very limited. Your best bet is to come early and dock at the Seaport. According to their website, you can visit Tuckerton while docked there.
