Forsythe Refuge | lbiviews

Southern end of Long Beach Island

The Edwin B. Forsythe National Wildlife refuge has a number of locations in the area. One of the more notable is at the southern end of LBI. Four wheel drive vehicles have been banned from the refuge at Holgate for some time due to nesting piping plovers. Surfing is usually allowed in a very narrow area near the entrance.

Depending on the weather, you can see Atlantic City in the distance. There are user fees for the refuge. There is a limited amount of parking available.
